Sports Minister participates in 88th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle in New Delhi

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today participated in the 88th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle in New Delhi. The event was a special National Sports Day edition of the initiative, organised in collaboration with BRICS at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Talking to the media, Dr Mandaviya said that cycling has become popular among citizens.
 
Highlighting the importance of Cycling, the Minister said that it is an excellent form of exercise, key to a pollution-free environment, and an effective solution to traffic congestion. The Minister also urged the youth to dedicate at least one hour daily to sports and physical activities to stay fit and healthy.
 
Meanwhile, Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team, Gautam Gambhir, said that the Fit India initiative will drive the country towards a fitter, stronger and self-reliant nation. He also called on the youth to participate in the movement.
