Sports Minister Anurag Thakur felicitated the medalists from the Cricket, Rowing, and Shooting contingents from the 19th Asian Games in New Delhi on Thursday.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Thakur said, the champions have made an indelible mark on Team India's performance at the Games, contributing significantly to the 25 and counting medals so far, including 6 Golds.
 
He said, from the historic achievement of winning gold in cricket on their debut to elevating the nation's overall performance at the Games compared to the previous edition, the rowers and shooters have consistently delivered their absolute best.
 
The Minister said, the medalists brought great pride to the nation and their hard work and efforts have elevated the status of the country as a rising sporting superpower. Mr Thakur said, India got the medals due to their sheer hard work. He said, Khelo India Games have brought many talents to the front. The Minister said the government has brought a transparent system for the sportspersons for their Ease of Living and so that they can concentrate on their sports.
