The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls has commenced across Jharkhand today. Under the campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every household till July 29 to distribute partially pre-filled enumeration forms and carry out voter verification.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that the objective of the exercise is to make the electoral rolls completely accurate, transparent and error-free, ensuring that no eligible Indian citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included. He appealed to voters to fill in the required details, sign the forms and return them to their BLOs at the earliest so that their names can be included in the draft electoral roll to be published on August 5th.
Today, the Chief Electoral Officer also inspected Polling Station numbers 84, 87 and 89 in the Torpa Assembly Constituency of Khunti district and held a meeting with BLOs and BLA-2s, and reviewed the preparations and implementation plan for the Special Intensive Revision. To give momentum to the campaign, a social media awareness drive was also launched under the hashtag.
