Security forces hold joint anti-terror exercise at Raghunath Mandir ahead of Amarnath Yatra

Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the National Security Guard (NSG) conducted a joint counter-terror mock drill at the historic Raghunath Mandir in Jammu yesterday, ahead of Amarnath Yatra. The exercise simulated a high-risk terrorist attack scenario, testing the response capabilities of security agencies through rapid intervention, area domination, hostage rescue, casualty evacuation and coordinated operations.

The drill was aimed at validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhancing inter-agency coordination and ensuring a swift and effective response to any security contingency during the annual pilgrimage. The mock exercise was part of a series of preparedness drills planned at key installations and other vulnerable locations across the Jammu region to assess operational readiness and reinforce the security framework ahead of the Yatra. The exercise witnessed seamless coordination among SOG Jammu, NSG and other security agencies, reflecting a high level of professionalism, interoperability and preparedness to tackle potential threats.
