SIT submits initial probe report on alleged anomalies in Ayodhya Ram Mandir donations and offerings

A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the alleged anomalies in donations and offerings at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, has submitted its initial probe report today.
 
The report was submitted to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad by SIT head Vijay Vishwas Pant, who is the commissioner of Lucknow. After submitting the report, SIT head Vijay Vishwas Pant said that this is a preliminary report. 
 
The high-level panel was constituted by the state government to investigate alleged financial irregularities and misappropriation of funds.
 
The team has submitted its initial course of the inquiry. Members of SIT questioned several suspects and temple trust officials over the past week. Further action based on the recommendations in the report is expected soon.
 
The Uttar Pradesh government constituted the SIT on 13th of this month following a request from the temple trust after allegations surfaced regarding the misappropriation of donations received at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
