SIR to begin in Telangana from June 15

The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana will begin from the fifteenth of June, 2026. State Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy announced this at a media conference in Hyderabad today. He said Booth Level Officers will carry out door-to-door verification from June 25th to July 24th. Mr Reddy said the process is being conducted in the state after nearly twenty-five years.
 
 
The Chief Electoral Officer said every voter will receive two enumeration forms. One form has to be filled and submitted, while the second copy will remain with the voter as an acknowledgement. He added that voters will also have the option to complete the enumeration process online.
 
 
Based on the collected information, a draft electoral roll will be published on July 31st. Objections and claims can be submitted till August 30th. The final electoral roll will be published on October 1st.
 
 
Mr Reddy said the main objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to ensure voting rights for every eligible citizen in the state.
