Sikkim-made feature film ‘Numahangma’, directed by filmmaker Niyara Subba and produced by H.M. Subba, has been selected for the 2nd Nepal Indigenous Film Festival (NIFF) 2026, scheduled to be held in London, United Kingdom, on 27th September.
Akashvani correspondent reports that the 90-minute feature film is based on the real-life journey and experiences of producer H.M. Subba, portraying the struggles, challenges and perseverance of a woman as she navigates family responsibilities and works her way towards success.
The film premiered at Vajra Cinema Hall in Gangtok and has since embarked on a journey through various film festivals. Previous to this recognition, ‘Numahangma’ won both Best Director and Best Film, with Niyara Subba receiving the Best Director Award at the 2nd Yakthung Cine Awards International (YCAI) 2082, which took place in Nepal on 8th February.
