The Sikkim government has announced a 20 percent reservation for Agniveers in recruitment to the post of forest guard in the state.

Addressing an event in Gangtok yesterday, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Golay said the decision aims to provide employment opportunities to Agniveers after they complete their service in the Armed Forces. He added that the state government has already implemented a 20 per cent reservation for Agniveers in recruitment to the Sikkim Police.

Mr Tamang said the state government remains committed to supporting ex-servicemen and Agniveers by creating avenues for their rehabilitation and employment.
