Mizoram’s electoral roll underwent a significant reshuffle during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with 32,280 names deleted and 39,243 new electors added, taking the state’s final voter count to 8,35,869. As per the final roll, published today after the completion of the SIR exercise, also recorded Mizoram’s first third gender elector, alongside 4, three thousand and 179 male and four lakh 32 thousand and 689 female voters.
The inclusion marks a notable development in the state’s electoral records, with the final roll showing a net increase of 6,963 electors, or 0.84 per cent, over the draft roll.
