Haryana launches ‘Har Ghar Diya’ initiative under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’  has been launched across the country today to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and 25 years in public service.

The ‘Har Ghar Diya’ initiative, scheduled for this evening in Haryana, has infused new energy into the lives of traditional clay artisans and potters across the nation, particularly in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.

Welcoming this government initiative, traditional clay artisans from Haryana’s Jind district stated that the campaign to light earthen lamps on the Prime Minister’s birthday has given their craft a new identity and fostered self-reliance. Sales of the earthen lamps they crafted have surged manifold, well ahead of Diwali.

Thousands of these lamps are being snapped up instantly, creating a festive, Diwali-like atmosphere within their families. On the auspicious occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti, the ‘Vocal for Local’ message is proving to be truly meaningful on the ground. The artisans describe this decision as a highly commendable step towards providing better livelihood opportunities for the country’s craftspeople right at their doorsteps. They express their heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and extend their warmest birthday wishes to him.
