The Indian stock market began trading on a lower note today. Sensex and Nifty opened in red this morning. The BSE Sensex began trading at 81,611 after slipping 209 points, or 0.26 per cent, in early trade. At the same time, the NSE Nifty was trading at 24,999 after slipping 58 points, or 0.23 per cent.

At 12 pm, the 30-share BSE Sensex slipped 405 points to 81,416 while the NSE Nifty dropped 128 points to 24,930.
