Indian benchmark indices snapped a five-day losing streak and ended higher with Nifty touching a fresh all-time high during the session. At close, the Sensex was up 1,293 points or 1.62 percent at 81,333 and the Nifty was up 428 points or 1.76 percent at 24,835.

In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index up by 2.12 percent, while the Small-cap index gained one percent. 29 out of 30 companies registered gains in the Sensex index. The top three gainers today were, Bharti Airtel 4.51 percent, Adani Ports 3.61 percent and Tata Steel 3.27 percent.

All the sectoral indices at BSE ended in the green.

The overall Market breadth at the BSE was positive. Out of 4,040 stocks traded, 2,652 shares advanced while 1,286 shares declined and 102 remained unchanged.
