Security forces continue ‘Operation Sheruwali’ in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district

In Jammu and Kashmir, the massive joint search operation by the Security Forces, namely ‘Sheruwali’, to trace terrorists in Rajouri district continued for 10th day yesterday. Intensive efforts are underway to track terrorist hideouts and strengthen security in the dense forest region.

The operation is being carried out by the Army in coordination with other security agencies, with surveillance and anti-terror measures continuing in the sensitive border belt. Amid the ongoing operation, a senior Army commander visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) yesterday to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness.

Lieutenant General PK Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, accompanied by the GOC of the Ace of Spades Division, assessed the ground situation during his visit. The Corps Commander interacted with troops deployed at forward locations and commended them for maintaining high morale, professionalism and dedication under challenging operational conditions. He reviewed measures undertaken to strengthen surveillance, enhance precision strike capabilities and improve preparedness to meet emerging warfare requirements.

The Army Commander expressed satisfaction with the formation’s operational readiness and steps taken to maintain a robust security posture along the LoC. Reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, he emphasised the need for continued vigilance and operational excellence to ensure effective domination of the LoC.
