Secretary of Textiles Ministry addresses inaugural session of National Handloom Designers’ Conclave

Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles Neelam Shami Rao today said that Indian weavers and designers should try to capture the changing market to increase their income. The Secretary said this while addressing the inaugural session of the National Handloom Designers’ Conclave in New Delhi.
 
She added that design plays an important role in the handloom sector and stressed that weavers can increase the sales of their products by improving the designs of the products. The Secretary lauded weavers and designers from across the country for their work excellence in the sector. 
 
The Conclave provided a platform for weavers to showcase their products and get access to the market. On the occasion, the Textiles Secretary felicitated the winner of the National Handloom Design Contest.
