Most Asian stock market indices displayed mixed trend today. China’s Shanghai Composite Index slipped more than 1.2 per cent, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index dropped almost 1.1 per cent. Conversely, South Korea’s Kospi index extended its upward move, rising more than 2.2 per cent while Japan’s Nikkei 225 ended on a flat note, giving up gains after hitting a fresh record high. Meanwhile, Singapore’s stock market remained closed today for Hari Raya Haji.
Major European indices were trading with gains today. France CAC 40 rose 0.8 per cent, while Germany’s DAX as well as London’s FTSE 100 were trading more than 0.1 per cent up, when reports last came in.
