The four-day search and rescue operation in the landslide-hit Irsalwadi village has been called off in Maharashtra. This was informed by Guardian Minister of Raigad district, Uday Samant on Sunday. Twenty-seven bodies have been recovered and 57 people are reported to be missing. 
 
Meanwhile, Mumbai and its adjoining areas continued to receive heavy intermittent rains for the third day today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas in Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts for today, and a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in isolated places in Mumbai for tomorrow. The city received rainfall of more than 50 mm today.
 
Mumbai's water situation has improved significantly after the continuous rainfall in past three days. The collective water stock in its seven reservoirs has touched around 50 per cent. Heavy rainfall in the coming days is expected to increase the water level further.
 
Villages in Shahapur, Bhiwandi, and Vasai talukas in Thane and Palghar districts of Maharashtra have been put on alert as nearby Tansa dam in Thane district was overflowing. Amid heavy rains, a massive amount of water has been discharged from Hatnur Dam on the Tapi River in Jalgaon.
