Saudi Arabia issues emergency alerts over aerial threat in four cities

Saudi authorities today issued emergency alerts warning of a hostile aerial threat in Mecca, Jeddah, Yanbu and Taif. The Civil Defense urged residents to follow safety instructions, avoid gatherings and refrain from filming.

It also advised people to call 911 in case of an emergency. Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said air defences had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by Houthi rebels towards the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu.

In Yemen, fierce clashes have resumed between Saudi-backed government forces and Houthi rebels on the eastern front near Taiz. The fighting involved heavy and medium weapons, artillery shelling and air strikes. These developments come amid heightened security concerns in the region, with attacks targeting civilian and critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
