The Sports Authority of India’s North East Regional Centre today organised “Sundays on Cycle – Commonwealth Games Edition” in Imphal, with enthusiastic participation from Commonwealth Games athletes, coaches, officials, fitness enthusiasts and members of the public. The event aimed to promote fitness, a healthy lifestyle, sports culture and mass participation in physical activity through cycling and community engagement. MLA of Nambol Assembly constituency Th. Basanta Kumar Singh flagged off the cycling rally, in which more than 100 cyclists took part. The programme concluded with the felicitation of Commonwealth Games medallists and participants, along with the presentation of mementoes.

In a separate event, Assam Rifles also organised “Sunday on Cycle”, with a rally from Kakching district to the Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal district. Around 70 cyclists participated, including personnel from Assam Rifles and the Border Security Force, along with local youth and civilians.
