The biennial election to the Rajya Sabha seat from Meghalaya will be held on 18th June. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Dr. B.D.R. Tiwari, today said announced the date after a meeting with the political parties with respect to the conduct of the biennial Rajya Sabha election in the state. As the present tenure of MP Rajya Sabha is going to end by 21st of the next month.
CEO announced that the nomination process will begin on 1st June month with the issuance of notification, and the last date for filing nominations is June 8th. The scrutiny will be held on 9th, and candidates can withdraw nominations until 11th June. The polling is set from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM, while the counting will take place at 5 pm the same day.
