The Regional Met department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at most places in the State for the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rain is expected over Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Theni districts.

Heavy rains have been predicted at isolated places over six districts including Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar and Tiruppur.

Four teams of the NDRF have been deployed to districts where heavy rainfall has been predicted. Round the clock services have been set up in the districts as a precaution. People have been advised not to venture near water bodies including waterfalls and rivers.
