Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, has called for stronger collaboration between government research institutions, industry and start-ups.
He said collaborations are required to accelerate innovation and ensure that scientific research reaches the market and benefits citizens. Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day RISE Conclave in Kolkata today, Dr Singh said the Government has opened up several strategic scientific sectors, including space and atomic energy, for greater private-sector participation. Dr Jitendra Singh said a stronger research-to-market ecosystem will contribute to technological self-reliance and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Various projects including launching of new website of CSIR have been initiated by Shri Jitendra Singh and MoUs have been exchanged between private scientific organisations and CSIR in presence of the Minister today.
The RISE Conclave – Research, Industry and Start-up Entrepreneurship – focuses on four key areas: Minerals, Medicine, Materials and Machines. It aims to strengthen research-industry linkages, promote technology transfer and nurture scientific entrepreneurship.
The conclave is jointly organised by four CSIR laboratories – CSIR-IICB, CSIR-CGCRI, CSIR-CMERI and CSIR-IMMT. Representatives from IITs, research institutions, industry and start-ups are participating.
The two-day conclave will conclude tomorrow.
