The report of the second part of the Bihar Caste Based Survey-2022 which comprises Socio-Economic data would be placed before Bihar Assembly in forthcoming winter session. This was informed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in an all-party meeting held yesterday in Patna.
The Chief Minister Chaired the meeting of nine political parties of Bihar Legislature including JD(U), RJD, BJP, Congress, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), AIMIM and other left parties.
Mr. Kumar and officials of General Administration Department (GAD) briefed the representatives of political parties about the salient features of the Survey, which focused on 17 points mostly regarding socio-economic profile of people.
The Bihar Government had released the findings of Caste Based Survey on Monday which includes detailed representation of different castes in Bihar’s demography. The estimate of the survey revealed that the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) is the largest group in Bihar which accounts for more than 36 percent of the Bihar demography.
The Chief Minister said the Survey has given vital information and his government will work in the interest of all citizens living in Bihar and devise policies after consulting all parties.
The main opposition party in the state, BJP has said that Nitish Kumar has brought this report for political mileage.
