Red warning for heavy rain in Chhattisgarh; Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning predicting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh till tomorrow. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttarakhand for the next three to four days.

The Met Department has predicted heavy rainfall over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Uttar Pradesh till the 16th of this month. The weather agency estimated thunderstorm and lightning conditions to continue over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Kerala and Mahe for the next two to three days. Similar weather conditions are expected over Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Gujarat State, Uttarakhand and the North Eastern Region during the next two to three days.

Meanwhile, parts of Delhi NCR witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall today. The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with a spell of very light rainfall at a few places in the National Capital from afternoon to evening tomorrow.
