In Maharashtra, a red alert for severe heatwave conditions has been issued for Amravati, Wardha and Chandrapur districts till Tuesday. An Orange Alert has also been sounded for Akola, Nagpur and Gadchiroli districts during the same period.
The Regional Meteorological Department has forecast continued high temperatures across most parts of Vidarbha, except Buldhana and Washim districts.
Meanwhile, Amravati has been witnessing intense heatwave conditions since April. According to the District General Hospital administration, 15 patients with heatstroke-like symptoms were admitted for treatment. All of them have since been discharged after receiving medical care.
