Rebel TMC MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at his residence in Delhi today amid ongoing tussle in the Trinamool Congress. The TMC leaders include Kakoli Ghosh, Saayoni Ghosh, Mala Roy and Satabdi Roy. Earlier, they had met BJP leader and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav.

Meanwhile, TMC MPs Kirti Azad and Sagarika Ghose met the Lok Sabha Speaker at his residence and submitted a letter to him. Later, talking to media, Mr Azad said, he told the Speaker that the rebel MPs have no legitimacy and the manner in which they are acting is unconstitutional.

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has written to the Lok Sabha Speaker urging him to treat Trinamool Congress as a single political party represented in the House solely through its duly authorised Leader and Whip. He urged the Speaker to decline to accord any recognition, status, or facility to any purported separate group or faction of the party.
