Ranchi Police has arrested top PLFI commander and 10 lakh rupee reward-carrying extremist Amrit Horo from the Lapung area. Acting on local intelligence inputs and long-term surveillance, a special police team led by Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan carried out the operation and apprehended him.

After the arrest of Dinesh Gope and the encounter of Martin Kerketta, Amrit had emerged as the chief of the banned extremist outfit and was allegedly involved in extortion and criminal activities in Ranchi, Khunti and nearby districts. Police are currently interrogating Amrit Horo to gather information about other extremists and the organisation’s network.
