Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said that it is essential to keep ground reality and national interest in mind for a good security policy. Addressing an event organised by a media house in New Delhi, Mr Singh said that a holistic approach must be adopted to address the challenges related to national security.
The Minister acknowledged that without diplomacy, military preparations can lead to confrontation and the security dilemma. He added that without strength, moving forward solely on the basis of diplomacy is considered a sign of weakness and is also fatal for national security, hence a balance of both is necessary. Mr Singh said that through diplomacy, India is working to establish peace across the world and preparing its defence and strategic capability to deal with every possible threat. He noted that the country has strengthened strategic partnerships and has created new platforms for cooperation and also expanded its diplomatic reach globally.
Mr Singh highlighted India’s push for indigenous defence technologies, including AI-driven threat prediction, early warning systems and faster decision-making. The Minister said, the country has conveyed the message that no distinction will now be made between terrorists and their sponsors. He asserted that by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, India has made made it clear that Blood and Water will not flow together.
