Gujarat gets slight respite from rain; HM Amit Shah speaks with CM on the situation

 
In Gujarat, the intensity of rain reduced today after four days of heavy showers. Light to moderate rainfall was reported in 76 talukas, with the state receiving 53 per cent of its seasonal average rainfall so far.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today spoke again with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and reviewed the situation in the state. Meanwhile, officials have been directed to take immediate steps to resolve waterlogging issues in Bavla and Sanand areas of Ahmedabad district.
In the wake of heavy rainfall in recent days, more than 7,900 people have been rescued and over 52,000 evacuated from affected regions. Restoration efforts are underway to bring life back to normal in the affected districts.
