R G Kar case: Representatives of medical fraternity in Kolkata hit streets after police summons two doctors for interrogation 

 

Representatives of the medical fraternity in Kolkata on Monday (19th August 2024) hit the streets in hundreds after the Police summoned two reputed city-based doctors for interrogation in connection with the case of rape and murder of a doctor. The two veteran doctors were issued summons for questioning in connection with publishing the name of the victim of the R G Kar case and spreading wrong information on social media. 

 

As the two doctors started walking towards the city police headquarters this afternoon, hundreds of representatives from the city’s medical fraternity, including junior and senior doctors and medical students, walked behind them in solidarity.

 

The protesting representatives of the medical fraternity then created a human chain in the area, silently protesting the entire development. They claimed that the more their voices will be suppressed, the more they get united in protests. 

 

Meanwhile, a five member team visited the house of the victim of the R G Kar case.
