Punjab: Students, NSS volunteers participate in ‘Khelo India Samvad’ on National Sports Day

In Punjab, as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations, thousands of students and NSS volunteers from 51 educational institutions in the state and the Union Territory of Chandigarh participated in the nationwide programme ‘Khelo India Samvad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath’ today and listened to the address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
 
State Director, MY Bharat Punjab, Rashmeet Kaur, said that the programme, which was organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, was aimed at connecting youth with the national vision of sports, fitness and youth-led Viksit Bharat. She said students patiently listened to the Prime Minister and got motivated.
 
One of the students, Shivya from Arya Mahila Mahavidyalya, Pathankot, said that the messages of the Prime Minister always motivate youth to work dedicatedly for building a Viksit Bharat.
 
 
Renowned cricketer and Member of Parliament Harbhajan Singh, Table Tennis player Manika Batra and other sportsmen participated in the programme and interacted and motivated them to join sports for mental and physical fitness. Harbhajan Singh said that connecting those youth with sports who are addicted to drugs would be a big challenge. He said sports is the only medium through which drug addiction can be pushed away.
