Punjab Police have succeeded in getting a fugitive gangster deported back to India from Jakarta, Indonesia with the help of central agencies. He was involved in transnational organised crime and was wanted in multiple heinous criminal cases including murder and Arms Act.
Sharing details of the operation codenamed ‘Nomad Hunt’, Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav said that the State Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) were tracking the gangster Jobanjit Singh for the last 6-months in close coordination with national and international agencies.
He said the accused was evading arrest by operating across multiple countries. He was wanted in four murder cases registered in Punjab besides others.
