Punjab Police has arrested its own Inspector Baldev Singh with over 3 kilograms of heroin, along with arms and ammunition, during a check at a police naka in Ferozepur.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, Bhupinder Singh, told the media that the Inspector, who is posted in the Counter Intelligence Branch of the Punjab Police, was stopped at a checking point based on prior information received from intelligence sources about the consignment he was carrying. He said the contraband, along with six sophisticated pistols and 17 live cartridges, was recovered from his private vehicle. Further investigation is underway.
