Punjab: MoS Railways draws attention of  CM on delayed execution of critical infrastructure projects

Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu has written to the Chief Minister Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann drawing his attention towards the delay in the execution of several critical railway infrastructure projects in the state, primarily on account of issues pending with the State Government. Mr. Bittu has said that these projects are not only a matter of national importance but are also vital for the economic growth, regional connectivity and overall development of Punjab.
According to the letter, these projects include Firozpur-Patti New Rail Line Project, Rajpura-Mohali New Rail Line Proiect, Nangal Dam-Talwara-Mukerian New Rail Line Project, Raman Mandi-Sadda Singhwala New Rail Line Project and Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Limited Height Subways (LHSs). Most of the new rail line projects are delayed due to non-completion of land acquisition process.
In the case of the over 25-kilometer Ferozepur-Patti New Rail Line Project, despite deposition of the entire amount of Rs. 194.11 crore with the Government of Punjab in December 2025, possession of the acquired land has not yet been handed over to Railways.
Sh. Bittu has requested Sh. Mann for his personal intervention for early completion of these long- pending railway projects.
