Punjab govt arrested 73,000 drug peddlers during 500 days of ‘Yudh Nasheyan Viruddh’ campaign

 
The Punjab government, during its ‘Yudh Nasheyan Viruddh’ campaign, has confiscated and demolished the property of drug smugglers worth 847 crore rupees and has arrested 73,000 drug peddlers in the state.
Addressing a press conference on the completion of 500 days of Yudh Nasheyan Viruddh drive, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said the public has also supported the drive by informing the police about the activities of drug smugglers. He said in the last 4-years, more than 6600-kilogram Heroin has been recovered from smugglers in Punjab.
