In Punjab, Independence Day was celebrated with full fervor and enthusiasm. The state level ceremony was held at the border district of Ferozepur where Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann unfurled the National Flag. The National Song Vande Mataram was played before the National Anthem. He inspected the parade consisting of security personnel from BSF, Punjab Police, Punjab Armed Police, Home Guards and NCC Cadets.

 

Earlier, he visited the Samadhi Sthal of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur and paid tributes to the martyrs.

 

Tableaus from different departments were also showcased on the occasion. Meanwhile, Punjab Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria unfurled the Tricolor at the Union Territory of Chandigarh and congratulated the people.
