Public Bus Services Resume on Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati Route After Nearly Three Years

In  Manipur, the public services on the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route resumed today, marking a significant development after a gap of nearly three years since the unprecedented crisis in the State. The resumption of this service is an important step towards restoring normal life and strengthening connectivity.

A total of 125 passengers travelled on the route along National Highway 2 in two buses and five wingers. The buses have already crossed Kangpokpi, a Kuki-inhabited district and Senapati, which is a Naga-inhabited district of Manipur and then entered Nagaland State en-route to Guwahati.

It may be mentioned that during his visit to Kangpokpi on 8th of this month, Manipur’s Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh along with Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen had announced the reopening of National Highways for free movement of all communities and that the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service would be resumed soon.
