President Murmu Urges Officer Trainees to Serve People With Fairness, Humility, Dedication

President Droupadi Murmu today said that the world of technology, media, economics and public policy is changing rapidly. She said this during the interaction with the Officer Trainees of the Indian Information Service and the Indian Statistical Service at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
 
 
On the occasion, she advised the officers to be judicious in their decisions, compassionate in their conduct and unwavering in upholding integrity. The President also underlined that the authority entrusted to them carries with it a profound responsibility to serve the people with fairness, humility and dedication. The President said that both services share the common objective of strengthening the quality of governance and serving the people.
 
 
She said, effective communication and credible information are essential pillars of a vibrant and responsive democracy.
President Murmu advised the officer trainees to continue learning and adapting throughout their careers. She urged them to remain curious, develop new competencies and learn from their experiences. She said, the rapidly changing landscape of technology, media, economics and public policy requires public servants to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills. Highlighting the role of the Indian Information Service, the President said, it has played an important role in strengthening the Government’s connection with citizens.
 
 
She noted that social media has fundamentally transformed the way people receive, share and respond to information. The President advised officers to use social media platforms not only to inform and engage citizens, but also to listen to their concerns, understand them and respond appropriately. She stressed that when information travels rapidly, accuracy, credibility and public interest must always guide official communication.
