President Droupadi Murmu has arrived on a three-day visit to Gujarat today. During her visit, the President will attend key events across Kevadia’s Ekta Nagar and Vadodara. Tomorrow evening, September 22, President Murmu will present the 72nd National Film Awards at Ekta Nagar in Kevadia. Ekta Nagar is all set to host the prestigious awards for the first time, marking a historic shift as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting takes the nation’s highest film honours beyond the capital to celebrate India’s cinematic diversity under the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
In a historic move, 72nd National Film Awards ceremony will be held at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat for the first time. Tomorrow, President Droupadi Murmu will preside over the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony at Ekta Nagar honoring outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, including veteran actor Anant Nag with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024. Senior officials, including Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, have reached Ekta Nagar to oversee and witness the historic event. Speaking on the significance of holding the ceremony at Kevadia, Secretary Chanchal Kumar highlighted the inspiring message of the venue.
Following the awards ceremony at Kevadia, President Murmu will travel to Vadodara for her final engagements on Wednesday, September 23. She will attend the 75th Annual Convocation of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda as the Chief Guest to present gold medals to meritorious students. Later in the afternoon, the President will launch Brahma Kumaris’ initiative ‘Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal’ and inaugurate the Global Spiritual Palace at Padra, alongside the virtual national launch of ‘Youth for Viksit Bharat’.
