Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri today said India has so far successfully navigated disruptions to crude oil and natural gas supplies amid the ongoing West Asia crisis and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Addressing an event organised by the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kolkata, Mr. Puri said India has remained insulated from the turbulence in global energy markets despite the uncertainty.

 

The Union Minister, however, acknowledged that the global energy situation remains challenging going forward. He assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will ensure that the disruptions do not get out of control.
