Union Minister for Coal and Mines Kishan Reddy said that during the 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, revolutionary changes have been brought about in the country through various reforms.
Speaking to the media after listening to the Mann Ki Baat programme in Hyderabad today, the Union Minister stated that crores of people across the country eagerly wait every month for the programme.
He expressed happiness that, as part of infrastructure development, the expansion of national highways, the growth of the railway network, the introduction of new trains, and the adoption of new technologies in the railway sector have been undertaken.
He said that while there were only 70 airports in the country earlier, that number has now reached nearly 150. The Minister added that, through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, roads are being laid to every village in remote areas of the country that previously had no road connectivity.
He noted that several reforms have been undertaken, including the development of tribal areas and improvements in education and healthcare facilities.
He said that the government has been continuously implementing the programme of supplying 5 kg of rice free of cost per month to poor people, benefiting 83 crore people across the country for several years.
He stated that Modi has been consistently striving to provide the country with corruption-free and efficient governance, as well as strong leadership across various sectors. As a result, he said, India’s prestige has further increased on international platforms worldwide.
