PM Modi to Inaugurate Projects Worth ₹13,000 Crore During Chennai Visit Tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chennai tomorrow, during which he will inaugurate projects worth Rs 13,000 crore.  At the outset, he will flag off the metro rail service for Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro Rail Project, built at a cost of around Rs. 4900 Crore. The Poonamallee – Porur corridor features a unique 3.7-km double-decker structure with advanced signalling systems designed to support driverless operations.  
 
 
At the event, he will dedicate and inaugurate railway infrastructure projects worth over ₹750 crore. These includes the inauguration of five Amrit Stations at Palani, Vellore Cantonment, Ambasamudram, Paramakudi and Namakkal, which have been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Mr. Modi will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate key National Highway projects worth around ₹3,700 crore. Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several port-related projects in Tamil Nadu to strengthen maritime infrastructure, expand cargo-handling capacity and improve logistics efficiency.
 
 
The foundation stone of the Group II/III Lube Oil Base Stocks  project at the existing Manali Refinery of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited in Chennai will also be laid by thePrime Minister. With a total cost of around ₹1,620 crore and a capacity of 270 thousand metric tonnes per annum , the project aims to produce Group II/III Lube Oil Base Stocks for the manufacture of world-class, premium-quality lubricants in India. 
 
 
Mr Modi will dedicate to the nation the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre at IIT Madras. He will also launch its pioneering global scientific mission to map more than 100 human brains into three-dimensional atlases at cellular resolution, across the human lifespan – from the foetal stage to old age. Prime Minister will participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai.
 
 
In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, security has been tightened in and around Chennai. Traffic from outside the city has been diverted at various points from 8 am to 4.30 pm.
