Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently holding talks with the President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung, in New Delhi. Both leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across a wide spectrum of areas. Several MoUs are likely to be signed after the talks.
Earlier, the President of South Korea was accorded a ceremonial welcome this morning at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were present on the occasion. President Lee and his wife, Kim Hea Kyung, also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a floral wreath at Rajghat.
President Lee Jae Myung will also hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu this evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Murmu will host a banquet in honour of President Lee Jae Myung.
President of South Korea Lee Jae Myung arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a three-day visit to India. He is accompanied by his wife, Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials and business leaders. This is President Lee’s first visit to India.
India and South Korea share a multifaceted partnership rooted in ancient civilisational ties and shared values of democracy and the rule of law. The visit of President Lee underscores the shared aspiration of both countries to further strengthen the existing areas of cooperation while expanding collaboration in new and emerging areas of mutual interest.
