PM Modi to hold bilateral talks with his Dutch counterpart Robb Jetten and call on King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Dutch Prime Minister Robb Jetten and will call on their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, this afternoon. The visit carries significance beyond bilateral ties and is expected to shape broader India-EU relations following the recently concluded India-Europe Free Trade Agreement.

Earlier, when the Prime Minister arrived in the Netherlands late last night , he was received by the Dutch foreign minister. He was accorded grand welcome through cultural & musical performances by the diaspora and dutch troops. Members of the Indian community, representing different age groups, regions, and faiths, gathered to welcome him with traditional dance and musical performances. The venue echoed with chants of “Modi-Modi” and “Vande Mataram” as he arrived. The Prime Minister shared some glimpses from the remarkable welcome by the Indian community in the Netherlands.

In a social media post, Mr. Modi said, the welcome was remarkable as it included a dance performance covering Kathak, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam, and also included a Garba performance. The Prime Minister will address the Indian community and interact with leading business leaders from the Netherlands during his stay. Thousands of Indian community members are expected to attend. The event will be a highlight of the Prime Minister’s trip to the country. The community event is expected to focus on India-Netherlands ties, the role of the diaspora, and India’s global outreach.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also meet CEOs of leading Dutch companies. Several important agreements are expected to be signed particularly in the fields of semiconductor chips and AI, where the Netherlands stands as a global leader. From the trade perspective, Netherlands is India’s key economic partner. One to the largest export destination as well as investor in India. Both the countries have robust parternship and cooperation in the areas of Water Management, Renewable Energy , Green Hydorgen Economy, Agriculture technologies and Health.
