Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Acting Head of State of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Hereditary Prince Alois, will hold a bilateral meeting in New Delhi today. The acting Head of State of the Principality of Liechtenstein, who is on a three-day visit to India, arrived in New Delhi yesterday from Vadodara. He is accompanied by his spouse, Princess Sophie, and a high-level official, as well as a business delegation comprising top industry leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Acting Head of State of the Principality of Liechtenstein will discuss cooperation in various areas including trade and investment, science, technology and innovation and people-to-people exchanges. They will also exchange views on regional and global developments. Prince Alois will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. He will also meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening, who will also host an official banquet in the honour of the visiting dignitary. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will also call on Prince Alois.
This is the second visit of Prince Alois to India in 2026. He earlier visited New Delhi in February this year to attend the AI Impact Summit. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the visit is expected to provide further impetus to the growing engagement between India and Liechtenstein, particularly since operationalization of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement last year. The visit will provide an opportunity to further deepen the friendly ties between India and Liechtenstein and build partnerships in new areas of mutual interest.
