PM Modi distributes over 51,000 appointment letters at 20th Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government Organisations at the 20th Rozgar Mela this afternoon through video conferencing. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi emphasized the pivotal role of youth in building a developed and self-reliant India. He said that in recent years, the Central government has consistently focused on equipping the youth with the skills and opportunities needed to prepare for the future. 
 
 
Prime Minister Modi said the government is also working to rapidly expand employment opportunities in the private sector. He said, with this objective, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana has been launched with an outlay of around one lakh crore. The scheme is expected to enable nearly two crore young people to enter the workforce for the first time. 
 
 
Prime Minister Modi said that India has signed Free Trade Agreements with nearly 40 countries in the past few years, which is opening new doors of opportunity for the country’s youth. He said, such trade agreements pave the way for new partnerships and markets for country’s entrepreneurs, and create new career possibilities for the youth. 
 
Prime Minister Modi said that India is today the world’s third largest startup ecosystem.
 
 
In Kolkata, Union Minister of State Education and DoNER Dr Sukanta Majumder today distributed appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during the Rozgar Mela held at National Library. The candidates were given appointment to various departments and ministries including Railway, India Posts, Health and Family Welfare.
 
Rozgar Mela has also been organised in Howrah district where appointment letters were delivered to candidates by Union Minister of State for Ports Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur.
 
 
In Mumbai, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse distributed appointment letters to newly recruited candidates at the Birla Matushri Sabhagar. Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, Alok Kumar, and Central Board of Direct Taxes member Pankaj Kumar Mishra were also present.
 
 
 
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, Minister Khadse urged them to continuously upgrade their skills and adapt to technological changes. She emphasised the importance of learning throughout their careers and encouraged the recruits to understand their responsibilities and keep developing themselves while serving in government departments.
 
 
In another programme in Mumbai, the Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Customs Zone-I, distributed appointment letters to 214 new recruits at SNDT Women’s University, Churchgate Campus. The programme highlighted the role of government service in national development and the contribution expected from the newly appointed youth towards strengthening the Indian economy.
 
 
The newly appointed candidates will join various ministries and departments of the Government of India, including Revenue, Railways, Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Financial Services and Defence.
 
 
In Thane, Union Minister of State, Prataprao Jadhav distributed appointment letters to the newly recruited candidates. The programme was attended by Chief Income Tax Commissioner Dr. Sarita Mishra Kolhe, IIT Bombay Registrar Ganesh Bhorkade and representatives of the Survey of India.
 
 
In Pune, Rozgar Mela was organised by the Customs Department. Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol and Chief Commissioner of CGST and Customs Neeraj Kandal were present.
 
 
Appointment letters were handed over to 217 candidates appointed in departments including DRDO, Customs, Airports Authority of India, the Postal Department, GAIL, Railways and CBIC.
 
 
Mr. Mohol said that joining Central Government service would provide the young recruits with an opportunity to serve citizens, improve public services and contribute to innovation and research in the country.
 
 
In Nagpur, Rozgar Mela event was organised at the National Fire Service College in Rajnagar. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari distributed appointment letters to 25 newly recruited candidates in a representative ceremony. A total of 337 candidates from Nagpur received appointment letters for departments including Income Tax, Railways, the Postal Department, Airports Authority of India, AIIMS and Bank of Baroda.
 
 
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, Mr. Gadkari urged them to develop their professional skills and work with sensitivity towards the public while serving in the administration.
