Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 57th convocation ceremony of IIT Delhi tomorrow. He will address more than three thousand graduating students, including undergraduate and postgraduate students and 587 Ph.D. scholars. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Director, IIT Delhi, Rangan Banerjee said that Mr Modi will present the Institute’s most prestigious award, including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, and Perfect Ten Gold Medals to the meritorious students. Mr Banerjee said that the Prime Minister will remotely inaugurate Param Pragya, an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility established at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to significantly enhance the institute’s capabilities in AI, data science, advanced computing, and interdisciplinary research.
The Director highlighted that IIT Delhi has launched a landmark national academic and research collaboration network through the signing of MoUs with 18 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) across the country. Mr Banerjee said that through this collaboration, students and faculty members of participating institutions will benefit from expanded opportunities for academic exchange, joint research, shared access to research infrastructure and faculty development initiatives. He informed that a total of 88 active International MoUs from 30 countries are paving ways to research and academic collaboration with international universities.
