PM Modi Interacts with CEOs, Founders of 20 Space Startups in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Founders of twenty Space Startups in New Delhi. During the interaction, the Prime Minister called for wider applications of Space Technology to improve the lives of people.
 
 
Mr Modi noted that the country’s Space Sector can become a magnet for global talent, companies and investment and suggested creating an ecosystem and an environment where, when the world thinks of space, it looks towards India.
 
 
Emphasizing greater collaboration between space industry and other social development sectors, the Prime Minister encouraged greater collaboration with Atal Tinkering Labs to nurture curiosity and interest among young minds for Space. Mr Modi also congratulated the leaders of the space sector for showing courage and taking the lead in a new area. He said that the confidence shown by the sector has strengthened the vision with which the space sector was opened to private participation.
 
 
During the meeting, the CEOs appreciated the decision of opening Space Sector to private participation created saying it created multiple new opportunities. They underlined the rapid progress being made by the Country’s private space industry and shared their vision for the sector’s future. They also highlighted the strong support from the government and collaboration within the industry, noting that their teams are highly motivated and working with determination to achieve ambitious goals in the space sector.
 
 
Founders of twenty startups working in space sector, including Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Pixxel, Dhruva Space, GalaxEye, PierSight, Bellatrix Aerospace, and Digantara, among others participated in the meeting.
 
 
Sharing a social media post, Mr Modi expressed happiness meeting the young entrepreneurs and innovators who have shown remarkable courage by entering a new and demanding domain. Mr Modi said that they have taken risks, trusted the reform process and remained consistent in their efforts and due to their hard work, the country has achieved a lot in the space sector in the last few years. He also urged the start-ups to think about how space technology can contribute immensely to agriculture, livestock management, dairy, the environment and many other areas that touch everyday lives.
 
 
Further, the Prime Minister assured the space StartUps that Government will continue to stand with them as they build India’s capabilities for the future. He noted that India can offer the world a strong, innovative and commercially viable model in the space sector.
