Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India and Uzbekistan are elevating their ties to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
In his opening remarks during delegation-level talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister said both countries will move forward by setting concrete goals within the framework of the elevated partnership. Prime Minister Modi said both countries also established a long-term arrangement for the supply of uranium.
He said the two countries are also formalising three sister-city and sister-state arrangements. He said both countries will establish a Coordination Council at the Foreign Minister level to provide direction to all aspects of bilateral cooperation through close coordination. Mr Modi said Joint Commission will be elevated to the Ministerial level from the Secretary level. He said, both sides will also jointly organise a business summit featuring business leaders from both the nations.
Mr Modi also expressed happiness over the coincidence of their 15th anniversary of strategic partnership and 35th anniversary of Independence Day of Uzbekistan. Mr Modi also extended advance congratulations and best wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of their Independence Day, which falls on 1st of September.
In his opening remarks during the talks President Mirziyoyev said India is achieving remarkable results across all sectors, maintaining high rates of economic growth and implementing major projects.
He said India is making truly outstanding advances in digitalisation, information technology, artificial intelligence, space exploration, and many other fields. Mirziyoyev said, New Delhi’s voice and influence in global affairs have grown even stronger and he is pleased to see all these achievements.
