PM Modi, HM Shah pay tribute to revolutionary martyr Udham Singh on his martyrdom day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to revolutionary martyr Udham Singh on his martyrdom day.

Sharing a Sanskrit quote in a social media post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the life of martyr Udham Singh, marked by his extraordinary courage and sacrifice, will continue to inspire every generation of the nation to safeguard the country’s honour and sovereignty.

In a social media post, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that martyr Udham Singh’s indomitable courage and the sacrifice he made in the efforts to free India are a glorious chapter in Indian history. Mr Singh remarked that the nation will not only remember his sacrifice but will also continue to draw inspiration from him forever.

In a social media post, Amit Shah described Udham Singh as a symbol of unparalleled courage and valour. He said the revolutionary avenged the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by eliminating Michael O’Dwyer in London, sending a strong message to the British regime. Mr Shah also said that through the Ghadar Party, Udham Singh played a significant role in kindling the spirit of freedom among Indians living abroad.

The Home Minister said the life of martyr Udham Singh, embracing the noose of the gallows with a smile for the sake of independence, stands as an unmatched example of patience, resolve, and patriotism.
