Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that today’s cabinet decision ensures faster passenger movement, stronger connectivity and additional freight capacity. In a social media post, Mr Modi highlighted that the five railway projects worth over 10 thousand crore rupees will foster better rail connectivity in South India and also benefit lakhs of people.

The Prime Minister also said that the Cabinet decision pertaining to three multitracking projects worth over 10 thousand 500 crore will add additional railway network and improve connectivity across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. He added that it will also encourage tourism, especially heritage and wildlife related tourism and lower logistics costs.
